Difficult people are among the lonely. In their inability to cope with their surroundings, they are often avoided by other people.

But in their need for acceptance, they force themselves to be acknowledged by others. The conflicts that result make them difficult people to be with. And as more people end up being difficult, the number of lonely people in the world swells to multi-millions.

This is a most overlooked dire need that persists through the ages – it is deemed that many lives are destroyed more by this malady than by wars, famines, and plagues.

7. Teaching them to love through your love for them.

Help a difficult person and you make this world a better place to live in. Help some more and you are well on your way to building a paradise.

Recent events in my life have taught me that the best thing to do in any situation is just to love people. How can I be a better friend, a better Son, Brother or Sister,etc. So often we go through life and we don’t really take the time to just simply love people.

For example I hop on a bus, I’ve got all this time to take interest in other people, en yet I just sit to myself, and pass the time, just wondering what others are up to. Most likely someone will come on, something about them will set an emotion off inside of me, and I will be quick to judge them. “What is that guy thinking dressing like that”.

If you can relate to me in this way, I’ve realized that love is the answer. Love. What is love?

Love is patient, Love is kind, It does not envy, it does not boast, It is not proud, It is not rude, It is not self-seeking, It is not easily angered, It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. Love never fails.

Love is genuine: “Don’t just pretend that you love others. Really love them” – Romans 12:9. Love is saying a prayer for the people riding with you, asking God to bless them. Love doesn’t mean holding hands and kissing the gentleman sitting next to you.

I’ve started to see in my life that as I open up to love people, it’s amazing at how things have changed in my. I heard this story of a girl walking home from school, terribly depressed and down on life. Ready to commit suicide when she arrives home, as she has just had enough. A classmate who had never spoken to her, comes up and asks if he can carry her books, and walk with her. My first response was and the one that I hear from most people is: I’m too busy, or I love enough already. I’d say if you honestly answer those questions you’d have the same response as I have. I’m not too busy. I just manage my time badly. I’m riding the bus anyways. Why not love the guy sitting next to me. I love enough already. There is never a time or a place in your life that you will love enough.

Group Helps Women Celebrate Their Lives

I’ve been there, right where you might find yourself today: unfulfilled, unappreciated, unhappy and unable to make my life different. No matter how much I gave of myself all day long, at home and at work and in the community, it was never enough.

No matter how exhausted I was at the end of the day, I was never able to pat myself on the back for all the good things I had done that had led me to that exhaustion.

I watched my three beautiful babies asleep in their beds. I saw my real estate sales go through the roof. I saw the smiles on faces all around and I knew I must have within me something very good.

And yet I never celebrated. I failed to celebrate myself. I failed to celebrate life. And as all the good things that were right there within my reach slipped away. I felt empty and inadequate.

My personal journey has involved some pretty daunting obstacles along a steep learning curve, but I eventually emerged as a woman who knows her own power and has learned to love herself and the world. Once I learned the secret of a truly celebrated life, I became a fully celebrated woman, and I’ve never looked back.

I am convinced of the potential women have to make the world a better place. That is why I realized a long-time dream to develop an organization to support and assist other women through the same experience. Along with my wonderful partner, Michael Robinson, I founded Women Celebrations. It’s a national organization for women to celebrate their lives fully.

I have identified and overcome my own obstacles, and I see myself today as a potential source of positive energy for everyone -; especially each woman -; I encounter. I explain my own journey to self-fulfillment and success with this affirmation: “With the help of so many, I am raising my level of consciousness to experience all that comes my way. In a healthy frame of mind, I face and release my fear, manifesting wonder and good things to myself and those around me.”

Did you know that security systems do not deter a burglar from breaking into your house? If someone wants to get into your house bad enough, they will find a way to do it. Burglars are aware of the different types of systems and how they work. They are also aware of how to get around them. Basically there are two types of home security systems.

One type, called a monitored system, alerts a central notification center once the alarm has been tripped and this center then checks in with the homeowner to see if everything is ok by calling. The call center is alerted through the phone wires. A clever burglar will locate the outdoor phone wires that are exposed and cut them. By doing this, the information center is never alerted and the burglar is free to enter the home. One disadvantage to having a monitored system is that even after the alarm has been triggered, it gives the burglar time to still get into your house, steal some valuables and escape undetected. This can happen because typically once the alarm has been set the security company waits for approximately 30 45 seconds before contacting the homeowner by phone to receive the correct password. They wait this long to allow the homeowner to deactivate the alarm if it is a false alarm. If the monitoring company does not receive the correct password, or the phone is not answered, they then contact the police. By the time the police arrive at least 1-2 minutes has passed. An experienced thief can make off with quite a few of your valuables in that short amount of time.

The other type of alarm systems is ones that make a loud siren like noise inside and outside the house alerting neighbors. These are called unmonitored systems. The responsibility to contact authorities then rests on your neighbors. With this type of alarm system, it is best to also include flashing lights so people are well aware of where the alarm is coming from. ATM dealers and ATM distributors look at one thing when deciding weather or not to place an ATM machine at a particular location. The rule of thumb goes like this. 3% – 5% of the foot traffic that actually sees the ATM machine will use the ATM. So lets figure that you have a total of 300 people a day coming through your doors, and lets say that you are charging a $2.25 surcharge per valid withdrawal. Thought for the Day: Why Doing a Task Twice Is Better Than Planning and Doing It Once

Yesterday, I was repairing part of the eaves on my house. It had sustained some water damage, and I needed to add a two-by-four piece of wood for some extra support.

I had already cut another, thinner piece. But I decided a more substantial piece was needed. And making it a little longer would give a nice, tight fit.

The thought occurred to me to measure the place where I would put the two-by-four. But that meant finding my measuring tape and climbing the ladder around the corner. What a hassle.

So I lay the thinner piece along the two-by-four, added a little extra for the nice, tight fit, and ran my handsaw back and forth over the wood. Within a couple minutes I had my custom-sized support.

As you have probably already guessed, the fit was very tight — much too tight — in fact, too tight by about half an inch.

Do you know what it’s like to cut half an inch from a two-by-four — with a hand saw?

When “slicing” a piece that thin, the edge of the wood keeps breaking off. This makes it hard to keep the saw in place. This makes the cut take about 17 times as long as the original.

But this is a better way than measuring first.

It’s gotta be.

Otherwise, I wouldn’t do it so often.

Now, I have noticed that, as I’ve aged, I don’t engage in the “do it twice” game as often as I used to. More and more I find myself doing the “plan it first” game.

So I guess the advantage to the “do it twice” game is this: it proves that you’re still young.

And stupid.

At least now I know why old people are slow:

- Because they can be.
- Because they plan first.
- Because they only do things once.

So it might take them 30 minutes to do something that I can do in six. But since I have to do it 12 times, I have to rush to do 72 minutes of work. That’s 72 minutes for a task that takes old people only 30.

That leaves them 42 minutes to walk slow, enjoy their food, and take naps.

I used to think that old people had to take naps, because they were – well – old.

Now I see that old people get to take naps, because they’re — well — smart.

Unfortunately, even though I’ve just learned a valuable lesson, I’m sure of one thing. There are at least eleventeen hundred more “do it twice” game moves looming in my future.

Well … gotta get going. I’ve some more measuring to skip.
