On Traditional Toys Played In Villages By Children

Filed under: Babies — Tags: — admin @ 7:19 am

India has an exceptionally rich tradition in art and craft. People in villages do not have sufficient money to afford them costly toys. So children in villages normally play with wooden toys, dolls made from lac that is made by them . Sikki is a reed which when dried in the sun becomes soft and golden in color. The strands are then secured into ropes, which are coiled to prepare various types of dolls, animals and boxes. Children play different types of games like hop scotch, hide and seek, passing the parcel, kabaddi, football, cricket and hockey. They keep themselves busy by playing on the dusty roads of the villages. It is very absorbing to see the village children playing the games totally engrossed. Modern days games have replaced the old traditional games, which were more exciting in my humble opinion, where your own imagination ruled how much fun you had.
